Learning in Paris at Les Catacombes

Learning the history in Paris at the alleyway takes you to the underground tunnels of Les-Catacombs. Les-Catacombs in Paris are a nice area to visit, if you enjoy learning history. The tunnel is interesting to walk underground through dank walkways. Here is where you will learn about the 6 million macabre prearranged skulls and cross-bone skeletons. Les Catacombes opened in 1818. The tunnel is the French Resistances original headquarters. During WWII, the French Resistance used the tunnels as a military cemetery.

Les CatacombesThe cemetery dates back to the 1800s where the average person was discouraged because of the overpopulation and deceased souls, as well as the uncivilized atmosphere. During this time, the atmosphere was full of filth. Due to the filth, councils of the Parisians transferred the deceased to the tunnels of Les Catacombes. The tunnel is filled with the bones of millions of dead souls. Parisian counsels of France transferred the bones, piling them in various areas around the tunnel. The skull of these dead people are piled in regions of the tunnel, and put together in reverse/front fashion. Some people find the bones disturbing. The bones are structured in a way that it is fashionable, which creates a transverse shape of the cross.

The spiral stairways stretch down the tunnel where you will see eye sockets of the deceased. Upon descending the stairs, you will see gravesites. Since underground tunnels and graves are chilling you, want to make sure that you wear proper attire to keep you warm. Keep in mind you will get residue of the deceased on you. If this bothers you, perhaps you can wear attire that shields your clothes and flesh.
