The Avenue des Champs Elysees: A Must See

June 17th, 2009 · No Comments

champsMost of us have heard about the Avenue des Champs Elysees — it is, after all, one of the most famous locations in all of Paris. However, many of us cannot even imagine the stunning beauty of the famed avenue — nor do we realize just how much the avenue has to offer in the way of cultural sites and exciting activities.

Until seeing it, it is difficult to imagine the scope of the Champs Elysees, which stretches all the way from the Place d’Etoile to the Place de la Concorde. Without question, you should begin your explorations straight from the well known Charles de Gaulle-Etoile metro station, at which point you will pretty much be at the base of the famous Arc de Triomphe. At that point, twelve major streets actually meet.

In addition to historical sites, there are plenty of authentic Parisian cafes lining the street, as well as shopping centers. Routinely, exciting celebrations take place there as well, which makes it easy to see why this is definitely a must see on any trip to Paris.
